I agree which means that even though we learned how Snape was able to 
lie to Voldemort, Occlumency (I hope I spelled that right)it means 
Voldemort could already know he has a spy among his ranks. He is 
probably only letting Snape survive because he thinks he can use him 
to send false information. For whatever reason, it sets up some 
interesting plot options in the future and frankly I'm surprised it 
didn't come into play in OoP.
