OOP: Harry's OWL results - Portions

Harry needs to obtain an "E" OWL in transfiguration and an "O" in  
Potions in order to be accepted into 6th & 7th year NEWT courses.  
Considering the OWLs are marked by outside examiners Harry has a 
good  chance of at least an "A" in Potions maybe an "E" but highly 
unlikely to get an "O". Perhaps McGonagall with tutor him? since 
Snape seems  unlikely to lower his standards or will Dumbledore force 
him to accept Harry since it is his "destiny" to fight dark wizards?

I'll beg to differ with you Grey. IIRC, he needs 5 NEWT's
with E or better – and that's in the 7th year. For now, I
think Harry will surprise even himself with his scoring on the OWLs, 
especially in the courses that he needs to ace for his chosen career. 
An "O" in DADA is a given, and quite possibly atleast
"E"s in Charms
and Transfiguration as well. Now I agree that portions seems to be 
the problem subject since Snape doesn't take anyone for NEWT who
doesn't score an "O" on the OWL.  

Does Harry have what it takes for an "O"? He did pretty well
on his exam, even to his pessimistic way of thinking concerning 
potions. What fun if he gets an O – just to rub it in Snapes
face! Snape would then save face, taking credit for `remedial
portions'. 

Well, It was probably worth an E at least. Let's say he gets an
"E". Snape might have to grudgingly take him in if only to
provide continued cover for occlumency lessons. Snape can make a big 
show of being forced by Dumbledore to take in an under-qualified 
Potter –and make him continue to take "Remedial
Portions". Harry will
probably Kick and Scream before being persuaded to continue lessons 
under Snape and (probably) with Draco. If this remedial portions 
thread keeps up, can't you just see 6th year portions class with 
Snape taunting Harry with extra lessons in front of the class and 
thus taking credit for anything that Harry manages to do right ? 

Harry will ace his portions NEWT of course ;-) ...provided he's
still alive to take them.
