If what we heard Umbridge <ugh> say is anything to go by then most of
the class should get "A"s and "E"s including Harry. Notice how little
is said about the classes where he DOES manage to turn in a complete
potion? He does it once in this book that we hear about, but he only
has, what 4/5 classes in the whole year that we hear about.
Umbridge says: "the class seems fairly advanced for their level"
(p363 US) and even though Snape snarks on and on about thier dismal
homework you know he's holding them to HIS standards and we got a
glimpse of that on HIS exam paper.
HE is not grading the O.W.L.
I wouldn't be surprised, in that case to see Harry squeak out an E.
It would be a cheap plot device but it *could* happen. I would be
SHOCKED and probably quite angry if they slip him an "O". He DOES
screw up a LOT and it is USUALLY because he's minding someone else's
business and not doing what he's supposed to be doing.
Melpomene, who only wants to see someone get an O because she really
wants to see an Advanced Potions lesson...one Snape CARES about!
