I think that after PoA and GoF, I have always gotten the feeling that
the "climactic scene" plays itself out fully in the next book.
Cedric's death was a constant throughout OoP- so I'm waiting to see
what JKR does with the aftermath of Sirius' death in Book 6 (how will
I survive 'til then?!). I just read an interview transcipt where I
got the impression that Sirius was meant to die since he was brought
into the book and it seems (or maybe I'm hoping!) that this is
somehow integral to the story. I agree somewhat that the death was a
bit anticlimatic and indeed, after I finished the book, I must have
re-read that section and the follow-up in Dumbledore's office four
more times! I think that if you can compare it to a climatic movie
scene, you could look at it almost like the final scene in Star Wars
when everyone stopped to watch Obi Wan and Darth Vadar dueling, then
Obi Wan 'dies' and Luke screams 'BEN!'.....okay- am I totally on my
own here or is someone getting me?? ;) (for the record when
Dumbledore and Voldemort where fighting, I thought of that scene too-
with the robes swishing around... alright, alright- I'll stop :))
