Something just occurred to me. I thought Snape's attitude in that scene was 
distinctly... odd. He didn't seem very angry with Harry. That really threw 
me because I would have thought he'd still be furious. I could only think 
that either his opinion of Harry had gone up or his opinion of Draco had 
gone down. However, as a spy, he would have had to continue acting the same 
towards both boys lest it get back to Voldemort that he was being nice to 
the Boy Who Lived. But what if his cover had already been blown? Might have 
been the Occlumency lessons or something else, I don't know, but it would 
explain the surge of hatred rather nicely, given what happened when 
Dumbledore looked at Harry before activating the portkey sending Harry and 
the Weasleys to Sirius' house (pg 474, OOP US hardcover). I don't know if it 
holds water, especially since we already have the nice explanation that 
Harry blames Snape for Black's death, but I think it would be interesting to 
look into.
