*Thweeeeeep!*  Sorry, but you've got a bit of movie contamination in 
there.  In the PS/SS novel, the next to last paragraph is Hermione 
telling Harry to have a good holiday, "shocked that anyone [Uncle 
Vernon]could be so unpleasant."  The book concludes by Harry replying 
that "They don't know that I'm not allowed to do magic.  I'm going to 
have a lot of fun with Dudley this summer..."  Personally, I think I 
might like the movie version a bit better with sweet, innocent Harry, 
but it isn't canon.
