But wasn't this the first occasion that the Sorting Hat mentioned 
Slytherin's emphasis on purebloods?

The other years when the song was sung, it just mentioned that 
ambition was the motivating trait of a Slytherin.

Also, I can't think that Tom Riddle (and potentially Harry) were the 
only halfbloods that ever got tapped for Slytherin House!  If they 
were, it seems some one would have mentioned it!

I thought the whole purebloods doxology was the mantra of the Death-
eaters, rather than the entire group of Slytherins.
