Weird, I always thought that crack and pop meant the same thing, so I
looked them up
crack:
To make a sharp snapping sound.
pop:
To make a short, sharp, explosive sound.
they seem very similar to me. It is like describing something the
same way, but using synonyms.
IE, would you write the same word every time to describe an action?
it's like saying roar, shout, hollared, yelled, screamed, etc. it
just livens up the text a little bit to break up the monotomy
I may be wrong though
also, the distances were different, so i suppose a crack would be a
bigger sound than a pop, but maybe the people were closer when they
heard the crack...
