----------------------------I've always wondered about the muggle/wizard
secrecy issue, myself, largely due to (you'll excuse the expression) mudblood
wizards. If muggle-families have children who grow into witches and wizards,
little by little, isn't the fact that the wizarding world exists going to escape?
What if, several years from now, Hermione's parents are asked what she does for
a living and her mom absent-mindedly says, "Oh, she works at Gringotts" or
"Oh, she's a witch" to a muggle friend? Muggle parents MUST have made this
mistake from time to time! If magic were solely restricted to wizard families, I
can see it being kept a secret, but if you've got squibs like Mrs. Figg and
muggle families with wizard children . . . there's definitely some crossover! And
you know the more people who know a secret, the less likely it is to be
kept--exponentially less likely with each new person!
