Now me (Wendy):

I think that Ron's vision in the mirror will come to pass as you
say, and think Helen is spot on in her analysis of why Ron should be
Quidditch captain (actually, I'd prefer to see Ron as captain in
year 6, instead of Harry at all).

I do think that Ron needs to do quite a bit of maturing, though,
before he'd meet my standard of what a "Head Boy" should be. I was
disappointed with him in the way he performed his prefect duties in
many cases (particularly in not challenging his brothers regarding
their "tests" on the other students, and allowing Hermione to do
handle that situation on her own). While I can understand his
hesitation, he DID accept the post as prefect, and I think he owes
it to everyone to do a proper job of it. I do have hope that he'll
become a bit more responsible - after all, we've seen what a prat
James was in 5th year, and he went on to be Head Boy. Ron doesn't
have NEARLY as far to go, IMO. :-)

And, for the record, I haven't always liked Ron very much, but a
combination of the fabulous thread a while back about how Ron is
feeling hurt and not jealous of Harry in GoF, plus Ron's behaviour
in OoP have really turned my feelings around, and I like him rather
a lot, now.

I also have a comment regarding the list itself, which hopefully
won't come across as too stroppy:

I've noticed a lot of duplicate posts coming through my mailbox
today and suspect that some people, not satisfied with the
responses - or lack thereof - to their posts are simply putting them
through again. I can understand this - I've had no response to
pretty much any of the posts I've made and have many of my points
duplicated EXACTLY by later posters (who obviously didn't read far
enough to see my comments before responding themselves). However
(and I'm asking this without have any authority to do so whatsoever
<g>) . . . PLEASE DON'T repost! I'm spending plenty of time going
through posts the first time, and am finding it rather annoying to
start reading something only to realise I already read it a few
hours earlier, or the day before, or TWICE the day before, or
whatever. I'd suggest that if you don't get a response, wait a week
or so to repost. By then, perhaps the list will have quieted and
people will be less overwhelmed and more able to respond. Please.
The volume of traffic here is high enough without exact duplicates!
<g>

Cheers!
Wendy
