As a teacher, we see this type of "mutual" bullying ALL the time,
especially when two clashing personalities are in constant contact. I
don't think it (the bullying) has any deeper meaning besides to focus
on the fact that these boys had no love lost between them, but had
had 5 years to intensify their dislike for one another.

There is something about this prophecy that is lurking in the murky
waters of my brain, but has yet to surface concerning the
aforementioned "big thing."

I think Petunia has greater ties to the WW than anyone realizes yet.
She assuredly knows more than she is letting on.

I am with you. I didn't shed a tear during the death scene (even
though I read it over three times within 5 minutes.) I think I was in
shock. I started bawling like a baby when he found the mirror. I know
everyone is shouting about the inconsistancy of the mirror, but I
have a totally different take on it. Remember when Sirius gave him
the mirror, Harry thought that he would never use it because he would
never do anything to bring S. out of hiding and risk Sirius' capture
(loss), so he put it completely out of his mind. When he found it and
realized he could have talked to and confided in S. risk free for
months and he hadn't, my heart broke. He had the means to have the
contact with the person he most cherished and valued, but didn't use
those means because he wanted to keep that loved one safe. And when
all is said and done, we all know how that ends up. The whole
situation is just so sadly ironic, it makes me want to weep for all
the missed opportunities of life.
