When I read this I felt as if Dumbledore is using this instrument to
determine if Harry was possessed by LV or just seeing through his
eyes. Dumbledore already knows that Harry and LV are connected and
that they share some of the same thoughts and feelings. By asking
the question "in essence divided", I felt Dumbledore was seeking
confirmation and assurance that Harry is still Harry and LV is still
LV. I suspect that Harry's and LV's minds are beginning to meld
together, but with very conflicting results. Harry is the conscious
and LV is the ID, in Freudian terms. One mind but two souls. I
also expect to see more of Harry having these experiences, but using
them to control LV instead of the other way around by stopping him
from doing certain things-- like murder. Don't get me wrong... I
don't think Harry would do this intentionally, but from an emotional
standpoint I think that he will have as much an effect on LV as LV
has on him. Any thoughts?
