OOP: Startling discovery about the veil

I'm with you -- I believe he wasn't dead as he fell through the 
veil.  But does he survive the fall?  What *does* happen to a living 
person who goes through the veil?  I'm betting that the two-way 
mirror will tie in here later for Harry and Sirius to communicate.  
After all, if a memory can communicate through a diary (CoS), why not 
through a mirror?

The only thing that makes me reasonably sure that Sirius is dead is 
that *JKR* said she broke down in tears after writing the death 
scene.  

Wait a minute.  What if JKR was working on Books 6 and 7 while OotP 
was in the editing/printing process -- and she's talking about 
Sirius' ACTUAL death sometime later?

Farfetched, but maybe worth a thought.
