Hi Charlotte-

I wondered this too. It seems to me that the fact that he smashed the mirror 
may suggest that he did indeed realize this. But it does seem strange that 
Rowling didn't elaborate on this emotion when she had elaborated on so many 
of Harry's other emotions in the book.
