I was wondering if this is a company initiative specific to 
Raincoast Books, or if it's a personal interest of JKR's. Do the US, 
UK, or other editions of OOP mention recycled paper, or other 
environmentally-friendly tactics?--ark

As a matter of fact, the US edition does.  In the diamond thingy in the back where they give the typeface and all that, you find the following, "No old-growth forests were used to create the paper for this book."
