I made a valiant (I think) effort to read all the posts... but i'm
only human. I apologize if this has been asked/ covered, but I have
been thinking on it since I first read it.
My first reaction after reading about Sirius's home and family life,
etc. was, "Gosh, maybe he was a Slytherin afterall." I'm not deadset
on this idea, but I am kind of playing with it right now. The very
fact that he came from a pure-blood family, a long line of dark
wizards, and lived in a house with the snake-symbolism running
rampant.
Of course, we know that Sirius himself wasn't a Dark Wizard, but this
could have been very much the product of his relationships with the
other marauders. Afterall, what a different Harry we might have had
if he had accepted Draco's hand first year. Once again... the
decisions we make...
But coming from a dark family, etc. would have formed who Sirius was
up until he was 11. And that might have been enough for him to be
Slytherin.
I suppose that begs the question... were the other Marauders also
Slytherin?
I think finding out Sirius, and possibly other role models, were in
Slytherin would go a long way in changing Harry's attitude towards
that house and in promoting some feelings of unity...
I would really like to hear what others think on any of this mumbo-
jumbo I pretend is coherent thoughts.
-Erin (who cringes at the words Slytherin because it looks so much
like Sly-the-Erin. I feel so dirty now ;) )
