I did indeed notice and most glaringly when he rushed out of his 
office after hearing Trelawny wailing then seemingly dissapeared. 
Very odd. In the previous books he would have been by DD and 
MgG's...in this case of course McG's side constantly. 
I wonder if he just had too much on his plate to deal with 
co-deputy-heading or whatever he was (even unofficially) when the 
triumverate was in place.  
His role in this book was very, very different than it has been in 
any of the others.

PS: If Snape was a vampire, Umbridge would have sacked him.
