Oops. Sorry, bibphile. I reread the post and realized that it was the
person you were replying to who defended James by the opinions of the
other peple. Actually, I agree with what you said about the other
characters in the book remember the "good" James more than the
bullying James.
I would not be surprised though if Mcgonagal and Hagrid knew little
about Jame's bullying though. The victims of bullying often are very
ashamed of their own situation, and would not go to the adults for help.
And of course, the bully him/herself would not go to the authorities for a
confession. That leaves the other students who witnessed the scene.
However, it seemed many were enjoying the scene too much, or did not
care enough to speak out against it.(And Snape insulted the only
person who helped him >< stupid Snape!) Now I'm really interested in
knowning what Mcgonagal's opinion on this....Did she know? Or did she
think Jame's goodness outweigh his bullying action in 15 ? :)
