They say: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Also, I
think Dumbledore is one for allowing people second chances and
believes each person chooses their own destiny-- so until Draco makes
his choice to not be at Hogwarts and as long as the damage he causes
is minimal, Dumbledore will let him stay in hopes he may be redeemed
or even return from choices he comes to regret. A difficult hope now
that Draco is just not fuelled by jealousy against Harry-- Draco now
wants revenge. I wonder if he will have lost his prefect status come
book 6 after his heading of the Spanish Inquisitional Jr Death Eater
Squad.
