He'd have learnt that Sirius had returned to his house. And he'd
have learnt that Sirius had, uncharacteristically, set Kreacher
free. Then he'd ask himself why, and he'd start wondering if it was
to shield the current house occupants from Kreacher's prying eyes.
Remember that the OoP do not want Voldy to know where they are
hiding, even though its whereabouts is magically protected.
I also think that Kreacher may have been given the Secrect Keeper's
key to Number 12.
SB: "Go and get a pint of milk for my Coco Pops Kreacher"
K: "Certainly o' worthless master" (Kreacher runs to door to alert
baddies)
SB: "Hang on, I command you to talk to no-one, other than the
checkout person in Tesco"
K: (muttering) "How will I return to my home, you blood traitor?"
SB: "Yes I forgot about that. Read and memorize this piece of
paper." (Downcast, Kreacher leaves to buy Sirius some milk for his
breakfast)
Cheers,
Tim.
