I figured Mr. Tibbles was at least part Kneazle, and Mrs. Norris, too.
They would then be better able to understand humans. Although, since
they are not described as 'sufficiently unusual in appearance to
attract Muggle interest' (from FB&WtFT) they can't be pure Kneazle.
