What's in a name . . . Luna/Lupin

I have been thinking about Luna's name a lot. This is what I came up
with...
Luna is a bit crazy/mad, and so is her father (just think - the
Quibbler). The students do call her "loony Luna" - and 'lunatic' is
another word for crazy. This has a bit of history behind it as well,
but I'll skip that and get to what I think... Perhaps Luna is called
Luna because she is a bit of a Lunatic? Not because she is a werewolf.
