This is a really good theory Irene, but the only thing is that we
know that it WASN'T a full moon cycle. Remember Sirius says he wished
it was because he was bored, and then Remus looked up and said
darkly "You might." This pretty much proves that the full moon wasn't
happening that night. (I don't have my book...mother is currently
devouring it! So I can't get the exact quote. Sorry.)
