I agree it cannot be the worst thing. From Sirius and Lupin's reactions
it sounded like a typical thing.
So what makes this memory so special?
I think that this day lead to the Shrieking Shack's night, aka the Prank.
Wait, listen! :-)
Lupin is stupid enough to list 3 signs of werewolf out loud. They are in
Snape's memory, so Snape must have heard them, surely?
Now he is the kind of guy who would act on such information as soon as
possible, and it's not such a stretch of imagination that Sirius was
sixteen by the end of their fifth year.
What a shame Harry didn't have more time. ;-)
