Long-time listee gone lurksome for a while now piping up!

Obligatory spoiler space ahoy!

Percy: I was really disappointed to learn that Percy had made such a
harsh break from the Weasleys. Returning Molly's jumper at Christmas
just Killed me! But, I believe that there is something going on with
him and not an Imperio curse. The night before the Daily Prophet
announces that the Odious Umbridge woman is now High Inquisitor, he
writes Ron and essentially gives him a heads up that something is
afoot. Yes, it is written in pomposity, but, as others have said,
perhaps he is on a mission for Dumbledore. I refuse, as founder and
president of Percy Lovers Unite, to believe he is evil until I see
proof.

Snape: I don't like him. I've never liked him. I will say I trust
him, only because Dumbledore does. Personally, I think he needs to
get that large stick labeled "James Potter" out of his bum and
realize that Harry is NOT James and that what Harry does know about
his parents is only what others have told him. I find it hard to
believe at the faculty meeting prior to Harry's first year (oh, there
had to be one! I work in the schools, we *love* beginning of the
year meetings!) that Dumbledore didn't mention the fact that Harry
has no real idea just who he is and that he's been living with his
muggle relatives. Also taking his loathing of James out on Harry is
childish. I have not so hot memories of junior high, but as an ADULT
(which Snape is) I would never take out my dislike of the parent out
on the innocent child. Granted, Harry was wrong to invade Snape's
memory... I also have never quite forgiven him for his terrible
comment to Hermione after Draco's jinx landed on her in GoF. "I see
no difference, Miss Granger." GRR

Harry's Crucio: Everyone is freaking out about this. Yes, I admit I
cried out "NO, HARRY, DON'T!" when I came to that scene, but it was
understandable given the previous events. What I found shocking and
horrible was Hermione's deliberate attempt at Umbridge's death when
she lead her out into the Forbidden Forest to the extremely-unhappy
with-humans Centaurs. What on earth did they do to that woman? I
did not in any stretch of the imagination like her, in fact, I used
phrases not lawful to be uttered whenever I saw her name pop up, but
Hermione's behavior, while a successfull attempt to get away from
her, was shocking to me. She *knew* what the Centaurs threatened to
do to any wizard/witch to enter their forest... I wonder if/ what
Dumbledore will have said to Hermione...

My nomination for funny line: "Angelina'll do her nut if you miss
any more Quidditch practices, Harry." Fred or George (can't recall
and I'm not getting up to double check.) Loved McGonagall, though!

Trina, who now calls her sweet Dudley cat Big D!
