Here's a thought about Harry's seeing the thestrals:
Didn't he kill Riddle?  By putting the Basilisk's fang into the 
book?  That would be a death he'd seen, along with Quirrell's, though 
I can see the theory that he was passed out when Quirrell died.  And 
I know I will get replies saying that Riddle isn't dead, he's 
Voldemort, and that's great and all, but I still think Harry's action 
can be described as killing him.  Therefore, having seen Riddle AND 
Quirrell AND his mom (though I understand the "too young" theory) he 
should've been able to see the thestrals.  Thoughts anyone?
