I saw it more as a link to the underworld, and every time i wonder 
about Sirius I keep thinking of that greek myth about whoever it was, 
the guy that went to the underworld to get his wife and came back; 
IMO, Sirius is another example of someone who goes to the underworld 
alive; if any1 (DD, the ministry wizards doing the research etc.) can 
work out how to get him back i think we might not have seen the last 
of Sirius (hopefully!)
