Re: comments on lack of character development.

I think that Hermione's character definitely develops in OOP- although not
romantically perhaps.

By the end of the book Hermione is deliberately flouting rules and not doing
her homework before doing anything else.  She has grown out of the narrowly
constricted rules she has set for herself-  and its refreshing to see her
being naughty for a change.  I wish I had my copy of OOP with me to give you
other examples.



Also -look at Neville's character changes- although we see hints of bravery
in prior books, he emerges full force as someone to be reckoned with in OOP.
