Upon opening the door to Snape's office, Draco sees Harry and Snape
standing with their wands out. We know Snape's wand is raised; it's
specifically mentioned that he lowers it (p638, US edition). Have
wands *ever* been used in Snape's Potions classes?

<snip>
Snape has, in fact, used his wand in Potions class, usually to empty
a cauldron. As I recall, he also used it to restore Trevor in other
books.

Me:
Even if Snape had *never* used his wand in Potions class, I still
don't think Draco would have doubted the explanation Snape gave him.
Draco hates Harry with a passion, and he was obviously quite gleeful
to hear that Harry had to take Remedial Potions. Also, it is WELL
known that Snape hates Harry; Draco would probably have laughed at
the thought of Harry and Snape spending more time than absolutely
necessary with one another. Certainly the idea of Snape teaching
Harry Occlumency would seem ludicrous - why wouldn't Dumbledore if
anyone give Hogwarts' favorite Golden Boy private lessons? Draco
would have no way of knowing about Dumbledore's reluctance to give
Voldemort a reason to possess Harry. I think Draco believes exactly
what Snape told him: that Harry is takign Remedial Potions.
