I have many thoughts on this book. I finished it a couple days and had to
let it all think in because at first I really didn't know what I thought. I
couldn't tell if I didn't like or if I thought it was a let down, but now
that I have read some posts I think I feel the same as a lot of people.

I agree this book was so dark, but more or less needed to be. Hogwarts has
always been that safe haven away from home that draw everyone (including us
readers) there. In all the previous books the bad things have happened but
Hogwarts was always a happy place to be. This all changed with the High
Inquisitor and the "trustworthy" Slytherin helpers. All of the darkness
including Harry's anger makes everything more real. (As everyone has been
saying)

I agree with another poster in the fact that they said they had never wanted
to claw out the eyes of a fictional character...i totally agree. I wanted
to smack Umbridge upside the head so many times!!! She is so horrible.

I kept trying to think throughout the whole book who is was that was going
to die, first Arthur. I was thankful it was not him! Also when Hermione
and Harry took Umbridge into the forest and she disappeared I thought she
was the one...because she was a main character in the book and it was never
told at that time if she died. So I kept wondering. Then when Harry
finally saw Sirius in his dream I knew it would be him. I knew this was a
trap to get Harry to the Department of Mysteries however I did think Sirius
would be there. THen when he wasn't there I so afraid Neville was going to
be one to die. I could hardly read that chapter i kept shaking (literally)
with emotion that Neville was going to die. I love Neville and am so glad he
if finally becoming something he can proud of himself for. Being brave
enough to face the person that made your parents insane is pretty courageous
to me. Then it wasn't and I was relieved but then Sirius died and I
couldn't believe it. Poor Harry is all I have to say about that.

One thing that really worried me when Umbridge and the "Squad" took Harry's
wand away I freaked. I kept thinking if Harry doesn't have HIS wand what is
he going to do. Obviously he needs the wand he was destined for because it
was the brother to Voldemort. I just kept thinking what is going to do,
because obvious (in my mind at least) Voldemort would show up and do
something, especially with a chapter entitle "The ONly One He Ever Feared"
Did anyone else think about that wand thing? I mean I realize he did get it
back but I was really scared for a while.

Percy also didn't surprise me in the least. I knew something like this
would happen because he always been so blinded by ambition. I don't think
he is evil he just wants to be someone, and hopefully it isn't someone for
the Death Eaters! I think he will see the light hopefully!!

Then my last is that I love Ginny! She is just so cool and nonchalant in
this book, especially compared to Chamber of secrets. She has totally come
of age and is just awesome in my opinion.

Also Herminoe being told by Ron that she should write a book on handling
girls was great!

The book was definitely good and I am now rereading it for all those little
details I missed the first time!
