OK, I've been telling myself that Sirius is *gone* but not *dead*.
There's something about that curtain that's not right. Sirius as we
know him is never coming back, but the death was *so* abrupt and *so*
utterly pointless, that there HAS to be more to the story. If JKR's
only point was that death is senseless and sudden, then I'm sorry,
she's not as good a writer as I thought she was. If she wanted a
grief-stricken and angry Harry, there were other people she could
have killed off. There was no reason to develop Sirius's character SO
MUCH in this book if she was only going to kill him off in the end.
Sirius will be back in some (non-ghostly) way, shape or form.

But isn't that her style of writing. I mean she developed Cedric considerably and then killed him off in the end. I agree that it seems odd but I don't know. if Sirius as we know him is gone how would he return what will be different about him? And will he still care for Harry? Why did he not answer Harry?
