Me:

I would say yes- he could die by jumping off the astronomy tower
EXCEPT he *won't* be jumping off the astronomy tower. He is fated to
battle Voldemort, and one of them will die BUT if he does get run
over by the knight bus or something then he is no longer the
prophecised... if you follow my drift- That is, whilst Harry is
alive, all evidence suggests that he is indeed the one spoken about
in the prophecy, but, if all of a sudden he was to get rampaged by a
hippogriff and die, he could no longer be the prophecised, as you
need to be *alive*. So, in essence- at this moment it's pretty
convincing that Harry is the one fated to defeat Voldemort, but, if
he suddenly was dead before the prophecy had been fulfilled- he
*couldn't* be the one in the prophecy- so the prohpecy wasn't about
him after all- therefore the prophecy must have been referring to
someone else all along (except that no-one realised- being so
convinced that it was Harry).

And, anyway, Harry seems very eager to deny that he is the one in the
prophecy the first time he hears it- although he has travelled along
the road of accepting his fate after thinking about it as the book
ends. So, I doubt that he will become more reckless, but perhaps more
single minded in his fight against Voldemort and, ultimately,
Voldemort alone- that is, perhaps the reason why no-one else can kill
him is merely because other people are rarely put in that position.
By that I mean, if Harry was running around being arrogant and
reckless then there's a lot more chance of him snuffing it- whereas,
by hearing the prophecy it's much more likely that Harry will focus
solely on the pursuit of Voldemort and try only to defeat him- not
letting himself be put in near-death poistions with other DE etc. Of
course, like I said previously- he Harry *were* to be killed by
Lucius Malfoy it wouldn't mean that the prophecy was a lie- it would
only mean that it wasn't about Harry after all.

I have more to say, but it's very hard to express it in words when
we're talking about such an abstract concept... :-D
