You know, this is why I love this list.  Someone always comes up with 
something that makes me sit up and say "Hmmmm. Isn't that 
interesting?"   

Yes, the phrase in the US edition is that Regulus died "some fifteen 
years ago."  Oh, I just love how we can make this even more 
convoluted!!  The only problem I have with Regulus being assigned the 
role of doing something nefarious with Harry and/or Neville is that I 
doubt he'd have been asked to kill them.  He doesn't seem like he was 
high enough up in the scheme of things to be entrusted with something 
like that.  

Maybe he was involved in the background work to help Vmort get access 
to one of the babies.  Maybe he was supposed to figure out a way to 
use his brother to get to the Potters.  Whatever it was, it was 
evidently something beyond his abilites and/or tolerance.  

And his death was just another reason for the adorable Mrs. Black to 
hate Sirius. I'm still holding out hope that Mrs. Black's maiden name 
was Snape.
