I know that he isn't going to be on the team again, with all
Voldemort being back and being a walking target.

I'm confused as to why Harry WOULDN'T go back to being the Seeker on
the Quidditch team. In OotP Fred or George says outright that Harry
is only banned from flying as long as Umbridge is at Hogwarts. Now
that she is gone, I'm sure McGonagall or even Dumbledore himself
would lift the ban.
I suppose you could say Harry is a "walking target" now, but that
didn't keep him off the team in year 5. In book 3, when McGonagall
believed Harry was in danger from Sirius, she wanted him to stop
Quidditch practices, but she never says anything of the sort in book
5. The fact that Voldemort is not officially acknowledged as being
reborn is no excuse - McGonagall is a member of the Order, and she
definitely is aware that Voldemort is back.
Besides, Harry is happiest when he is flying (reread his reaction
upon leaving the Dursley's house with the Order members). I think he
is going to need some pleasurable pasttimes in the dark years to come.
I have one last comment to make on Quidditch: is it just me, or does
JKR seem to be trying to avoid writing about it? Ever since
Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup in Book 3, the wizarding sport has
become less and less important. In GoF, Quidditch matches were
nonexistent, and in OotP the readers care only about the one
Quidditch match that Harry plays in. I know there are more dire
things afoot in the wizarding world...but still, I think it's an
interesting development considering Quidditch matches are one of the
biggest forms of inter-House rivalry, which promises to be an
important issue in the next two books.
