I absolutely agree with this theory, i have thought about this since 
SS when they where in the shack on the rock that maybe she was a 
failed witch. Then when i read OOP and the letter from dumbledore 
came and it said :remember my last... i thought..hem,hem, there has 
to be something more compelling to those words than the explanation 
of she is to remember the last letter sent to her from dumbeldore 
when harry was a baby.

maybe this is the reason she also smothers dudley to death (literally 
given his weight). Perhaps she alone knows dudley is a squib and 
tries to hard to protect him from what Harry has the privalige to 
become. Hmmmm...some more things to ponder over a nice bottle of 
butterbeer...
