Obviously DD has limits, like anyone, but it seemed to me that Sirius was already dead, wether hit by an AK or some other spell well placed enough to kill..
On the subject of limits and power, something I thought was very interesting from OoP was the line regarding Hermione's injury - about the vocalisation of a spell. I had wondered how Dumbledore did a lot of the stuff he did, along with VM.. Obviously they're powerful enough to put enough power behind small spells without vocalisation... Interesting stuff :)
