You mean you didn't think Hermione was also frequently blunt and
rude in this book?
What about calling Ron pathetic (and not only once, IIRC) when he
flinched at the use of the name Voldemort, even though she
had done the same until very recently.
And how about basically telling him he was emotionally
inferior?
She must be feeling frustrated with him, maybe because she's
waiting for him to reveal his feelings for her, because at
other times she showed a more understanding side.
But there were certainly plenty of moments where I wanted to
smack her, and I'm not at all sure her view on other
peoples' emotions was always right.
Hermione is very intelligent, and can be quite arrogant
about it, and impatient with peers who have to work on
things a bit more.
I'm not sure if JKR wants us to see Hermione as much
improved, now, or not, but I'm hoping she'll see "how the
other side lives" in one of the next two books.
She's become very sure that she's always right (and she is a
lot of the time), and that could become a problem in the
future.
