<snip>
We know from her prediction at the end of PoA that Trelawney cannot
remember what she prophesies, but I wonder if this information could
be forced out of her using Veritaserum or the Cruciatus curse, which
has been used more than once to extract information from people, even
breaking through powerful memory charms (i.e. Bertha Jorkins).\
<snip>

Oooh, I'd be willing to bet you're right on that account. Maybe
Veritaserum would be ineffective, but I'd strongly suspect Cruciatus
would "jog" Trelawney's memory, so to speak. Of course, I think that
Dumbledore's insistence that Sibyll remain at Hogwarts was borne
partially out of kindness - who else would take in a Seer who only
had made two real predictions? But certainly the fear that Voldemort
might kidnap her would explain JKR's use of the word "sharply" to
describe Dumbledore's command that Trelawney stay.
