But who will be gone? Who is going to fall to the wayside in this
march? I'm sure more deaths are to follow but whom? Look how it was
brought out how mean even the good wizards can be ifthey think they
are doing the right thing. I think the book pointed out many things
that have been brought out in the 2000 + post that I'm sure
have been posted. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts thanks.
OK, here are my predictions, glum though they may be:

> Dumbledore:
> Likelihood he'll be dead by the end of book 6: 50%
> Likelihood he'll be dead by the end of book 7: 95%
Me: No arguments here. I was expecting him to bite the proverbial
dust in book 5, to tell you the truth.
> Harry:
> Likelihood he'll be dead by the end of book 7: 70%
Me: Not going to touch that whole depressing theory right now...
> Snape:

> Likelihood he'll be dead by the end of book 7: 80%
Me: I might put the percentages for Snape a little lower. Call it a
hunch, but I think he'll still be around in the end. I know he's in a
VERY dangerous line of work, but I think it would be extremely ironic
if all the Marauders died (though I'm undecided on the fate of Lupin)
and Snape was the only one left standing.
> Lupin:
> Likelihood he'll be dead by the end of book 6: 75%

Me: Would JKR kill off ALL the Marauders? Lupin currently the only
one with the slightest possibility of seeing a happy ending.
> Lucius:
> Likelihood he'll be dead by the end of book 6: 35%
> Likelihood he'll be dead by the end of book 7: 85%
Me: At first I was surprised - ONLY 85%? Then I realized: A lot of
Death Eaters are going to die, but it would be pretty unrealistic for
ALL of them to get snuffed. I favor Lucius being locked in prison for
a while - he better not weasel his way out of punishment this time!
> Ron/Hermione:
> Likelihood one of the two will be dead by the end of book 6: 50%
> Likelihood one of the two will be dead by the end of book 7: 80%
Me: Of the two, I think Ron has a higher likelihood of dying.
Hermione is the lead female role in the book, and I don't think JKR
would want to kill off the character whom she has said several times
is very similar to herself.
...

> 100%
Me: 100% agreement here. And this raises an interesting scenario: If
Voldemort kills them personally, then Harry would most likely see
them die through Voldemort's eyes - would essentially feel as if he
were the one casting the AK. What kind of dark guilt trip would this
put Harry on?

Me: ~outraged~ Why wasn't he mentioned much at all in OotP? It was as
if he dropped off the face of the earth.
