I actually read the prophecy to mean that while one lives, the other 
can't, meaning that one has to die for the other to survive.  So, at 
the end of book 7, either Voldemort will kill Harry, and proceed to 
World Domination, OR Harry will kill/defeat Voldemort (my money is on 
a "fate worse than death"), become a world hero (as if he isn't 
already), and go out to live his own life, apart from Voldemort's 
taunts.

I do believe that Harry currently only exists as a counterbalance to 
Voldemort, and that he is starting to realize that others see him in 
only this way.  Why else would he be so mad at Dumbledore for 
protecting him.  He wants to be normal, even by Hogwarts standards, 
but it hasn't happened, mostly because of his scar, and the fact that 
everyone knows who he is.  I'd like to see another scene where the 
scar is hidden (Knight bus, PoA) to see what he's like outside of the 
Harry Potter, Hero persona.
