I just read an interview with JKR--link to on the MSN home page.  
This little comment has me a bit worried.

----One boy in Sydney asked if there would be any books about Harry 
as an adult. She teasingly replied: "You have to wait and see if he 
survives to be a grown-up. I don't want to give anything away at the 
moment."

I know she likes to be coy and mysterious, please let that be the 
case here.  I don't think I could take it if Harry died.
