Ali - As to which house Snape was in the book metions that he was in 
Slytherin.  Jk says that James was the seeker for Grif.  As to Sirius 
and Lupin it does seem implied that they were all house mates in 
Grif, because she makes mention of them in all the same places, 
classes and such to the point that the friends all notice when Lupin 
leaves during each full moon which may not have happened had they 
been in seperate houses and attending classes with their own house.
