Perhaps you should do another re-read.
To make it easier here's an outline of the events:
James: All right, Snivellus?
Snape: *whirls about tries to get his wand up to defend himself*
James: Expelliarmus!
BLACK: Impedimenta!
Snape: *Struggles on ground, can't get up because of the spell*
James: *glances at nearby girls*
Snape: *lamely threatens James and Black*
Black: Insults, name calling
Snape: *swears, still can't defend himself without his wand*
JAMES: Wash out your mouth. Scourgify!
Snape: *GAGS, CHOKES*
Lily: *attempts to intervene on Snape's behalf, asks Jame's what Snape did*
James: Well, it's more the fact that he _exists_, if you know what I mean...
Audience: Laughs, except for Lupin and Lily
Lily: *name calling directed at James, and another plea to leave Snape
alone*
James *attempt to blackmail Lily into dating him*
Lily: *refuses, insults James*
Black: *notices that Snape has managed to get his wand back*
Snape: *uses spell to cut James' face*
James: Hangs Snape in the air, putting him on display for the crowd*
Crowd: *cheers, laughs*
Lily: *continues to try and get James to stop*
James: *Drops Snape, puts him in a body bind
Lily: *Shouts at James, pulls out her wand*
James: *threatens Lily*
Lily: *asks James to release Snape from the body bind*
James: *taunts Snape*
Snape: I don't need help from filthy little Mudbloods like her!
Lily: *assures Snape that she won't help him again, taunts, name calling*
James: *threatens Snape*
Lily: *gets mad at James again, says James is as bad as Snape*
James: *tells her he'd never call her a mudblood*
Lily: *insults James, says he makes her sick, leaves*
James: *calls after her and is ignored.* What is it wither her?
Black Reading between the lines, I'd say she thinks you're a bit conceited
mate.
James: Right. right- *Hangs Snape upside down again. Seems intent on
removing Snape's underwear*
Present day Snape: *pulls Harry from the pensive*
It may just be me, but think James did a bit more that just a few hexes hm?
>Not to say that I didn't feel sorry for the 15 yo Snape, but in

Actually they really haven't. They've been mentioned several times in fact.
So, once again, in Snape's shoes, I would have been prepared to do almost
anything to get away, and I think I'm not in the minority on this.
>I still say

Yes, he does. I totally agree. Hopefully what he saw of Harry's memories and
the fact that Harry wasn't "having fun" in the pensieve will have an effect
on him. Perhaps they have already. I still think he was acting decidedly
un-hateful towards Harry in his last scene in the book. I see great
potential for the two of them once Snape realizes Harry is nothing like
James and once Harry realizes he shouldn't blame Snape for Black's death.
