I think it's easy for us to judge Severus.  It's easy to watch something and 
to say what people should be doing.  I don't think we should be telling anyone 
else what to feel.  It's not a question of Severus growing up.  It's not even 
that he's punishing Harry just for what his father did.  I personally feel 
it's wrong to act like holding a grudge means you're acting like a child.  It's 
a normal human emotion.  Some people are enlightened enough to forgive. To err 
is human, to forgive divine.  Even though Harry is still a teenage, I don't 
see many posts telling Harry he should grow the hell up and stop blaming 
Severus for every single bad thing that happens in his life.  I know he's only 15, 
but shouldn't someone be saying this to Harry?  I suppose I'm alone in this...  

IMHO Severus is well ... kind of justified.  I punish my sister and her 
friends because I imagine myself being their age, and them doing what they do to 
other kids to me.  I think Severus sees himself in the Hogwarts students.  
Severus sees Harry receiving all sorts of special treatment and getting away with ev
erything (I almost said "getting away with murder," but then I thought of 
Sirius and couldn't!).  Severus isn't being completely fair in this.  But what 
is?  Life is pain.  Anyone who tells you differently is selling something.
I don't think we should judge Severus and tell him to grow up.  I don't think 
being yourself is something anyone should be chided for.  If Severus wants to 
hold a grudge against the Marauders until the end of eternity, it's his 
right.
