There is one other thing I'd like to mention about Occlumency.

Tell me Snape is not utterly wrought with contention that James or 
James' son _ever_ be better than he. 
He would rather try hard to believe that someone elses name belong on 
the Orb of the Prophecy. Anyone but Potter.
