Hmm, I don't think we really know enough about Snape's childhood to say it
was the same as Harry's. It could have easily been much better or much
worse. Also, we don't have a terribly good idea of how Snape behaved as a
teen, we just know that the Marauders didn't think much of him and visa
versa. And Harry certainly wasn't that well behaved this book, his endless
sulking and tantrums really got on my nerves.

Oh, I don't know, Dumbledore probably told Snape Harry wasn't to know about
the prophecy. I can see how Snape would have been really startled when Harry
asked him that and he would have wanted to get Harry as far away from the
subject as quickly as possible. *smiles*
