And then has the gall (or wherewithal, depending on your ship)
to "advise" him on what he should have said and done afterwards, and 
even gets him to comment on her looks - that is, to say that 
he "doesn't think she's ugly." This ship lives, oh yes. But it'll be 
pretty heartbreaking when Potter, after realizing how important his 
auth... friend has been, has to go and do whatever it is (certainly 
involving dragons or dragon blood, as I can't see ten-pin bowling 
fitting into it, much) that will rid the world of LV and HP.

I mean, Hermione is praised for her understanding of relationships, 
so I assume she knew how badly timed the media relations meeting was. 
And the owled message could have been held somewhere else, or trotted 
off to someplace by that kneazle, so it arrived at the opportune (or 
inopportune) time.
