But if you're willing to go for just a bit longer, I just suddenly got 
really, really interested in Honorable!Mistaken!DangerAddict!James. Is it 
that he was really a good and honorable person, but that he was going about 
expressing his goodness and honor in the wrong way by bullying people he 
felt were less good and honorable than he was? And also liked picking on 
Snape especially because of the extra danger?

If you'd rather leave it, that's fine, I just suddenly got this vision of 
Conflicted!Complicated!AngstFilled!James that would be the result of my 
understanding of Honorable!Mistaken!DangerAddict!James and got curious. But, 
once again, I did propose the truce, so it's up to you if you'd like to 
continue. I promise I wouldn't get mad though, if I'm anything close to 
right, he's someone I could actually like. I haven't a clue why it didn't 
occur to me before.
