This is a really interesting possibility, and I definitely think
that the non-human magical creatures will feature strongly in book
6. I reckon, though, that they will actually be more tempted towards
Voldemort's side, because throughout OoP, there are constant
reminders of how wizards and witches have abused their non-human
peers. Trying to think of examples ...
UK p. 81 The order are discussing whether the goblins would go
over to Voldemort's side and Lupin says 'If they're offered the
freedom we've been denying them for centuries, they're going to be
tempted'
UK p.666 The anger of the centaurs against wizardkind when
Hermione lets slip that they wanted the centaurs to deal with
Professor Umbridge for them - in the forbidden forest before they're
rescued by Grawp : 'They already have the arrongance of their kind'
The constant theme of house elves' slavery (UK p. 733): 'Kreacher is
what he ahs been made by wizards, Harry...Yes, he is to be pitied.
his existence has been as miserable as your friend Dobby's'
Harry's reflection on the magical creatures fountain in the inistry
of Magic foyer (after his disciplinary hearing) that 'they were most
unlikely to be caught staring so soppily at humans of any
description'
Oh gosh, there are tons of others but I'm a bit too pushed for time
to look them up. Hope you get what I'm trying to get at though...I
remember lots of mentions of hostility to wizards and witches...not
so many to unity amongst all magical creatures. Anyone agree?
