Yes, I'm glad you emphasised the fact that Snape isn't black or
white, but swings between various shades of grey depending on his
mood. This is what I love about his character, and what I love about
JKR's subtlety of characterisation. WHAT is the story with him? It's
driving me crazy. I always had him pegged as the 'redemption' guy
(and everyone loves a repenting complicated bad guy, right?) But
now, after JKR hinted that he might do something terrible in the
future, I'm confused.
Something else which drives me bonkers with speculation is JKR's
comment (earlier last week, I think, on the BBC interview) that
there was some mystery, on which the whole saga is pinned, which no-
one has guessed yet and which some people have skirted around. WHAT
can this be? Can there possibly be a plot permutation which we
haven't all discussed to death yet? I'm darned if I can think of it.
Makes me think that there's something right in front of our noses
which we haven't found yet.......I'm going to search the archived
posts for some possibilities.
I'll be back.

Sueeeyqbong (who thinks she is going to be very very depressed
indeed when book 7 is published and devoured and there's nothing
left to speculate on. What are we all going to do then???)
